When Raspberry Pi introduced the Compute Module, their core Raspberry Pi computer in an SO-DIMM form factor, they brought their open platform solution into a modular design for seamless integration in a variety devices and applications.
This evolution to the SO-DIMM form factor created the perfect opportunity for NEC Display Solutions to design displays that can host the Compute Module inside; turning the newest generation of large-screen displays into a fully networkable computer.
Seeing the need for expanded memory capabilities in more demanding applications, beyond the standard 4 GB Compute Modules, NEC Display Solutions has developed a custom 16 GB edition of the Raspberry Pi Compute Module. The increased on-board storage provides even greater flexibility when planning a large-screen display installation, with ample space for applications and media to customize the setup to almost any environment. The NEC display is fully compatible with the standard Raspberry Pi 4 GB Compute Modules (version 1 or 3), ensuring that existing System on a Chip powered by Raspberry Pi modules can be easily integrated in the NEC display.
