For Windows Users

The NaViSet installer said that it could not detect my monitor. What can I do?

First, check that your monitor model is compatible. If your monitor model is supported, you can force your operating system to detect the monitor by following these steps:
1. From the "System Properties" control panel, open the "Device Manager" in the "Hardware" tab.
2. In the list of devices in the Device Manager, expand the "Monitors" menu.
3. Select and delete the existing monitor, then select "Scan for Hardware Changes."

If the above steps fail, restart Windows and run the NaViSet installer again. If that does not work, then your Video Display Adapter is not capable of detecting the monitor correctly, and is incompatible with DDC/CI.

My video display adapter make, and I've followed all the steps for installing the latest drivers, but I still can't get NaViSet to detect the monitor. What can I do?

First, try switching the monitor’s power off for a couple of seconds, then back on. If that does not work, use the NaViSet feedback form to submit the details of your video display adapter (model, manufacturer, BIOS and driver versions, and Windows operating system version), as well as your model of display monitor.

I updated my video display adapter drivers, and now NaViSet won't work. What is wrong?

The necessary drivers to use DDC/CI may not have been reloaded. Try uninstalling NaViSet, then reinstall.

I changed my video display adapter card and now NaViSet won't work. What is wrong?

First, make sure the new card is compatible with DDC/CI and check that you have installed the latest drivers from the manufacturer.
If you have the latest drivers, try uninstalling NaViSet, then reinstall.

I have the cable connected to the DVI-I port on my monitor (LCD 1880SX, LCD 1550X, or NEC FP1375X) but I still can’t get NaViSet to work?

Make sure the “DVI Select” control on the OSM is set to the proper setting (digital or analog).

For Mac Users

I adjusted the controls on the monitor using the On Screen Display, but NaViSet doesn't show these changes. What is wrong?

If you adjust the monitor using the OSD while NaViSet is open, the controls in NaViSet will not be updated. To get NaViSet to show your changes, simply close and reopen it.

When I select "sRGB" mode on my CRT display monitor using NaViSet, I see a message that some controls are not available. Why is this?

In order for sRGB to be correctly supported, the brightness and contrast controls are locked to specific values.
