1. Right mouse click on the desktop (move the mouse cursor to an empty spot on the screen and click the right mouse button), A dialog box as shown at right will appear, select "Properties" and left mouse click to open the Display Properties dialog box.

2. In the Display Properties dialog box, click on the "Settings" Tab. If your monitor is listed, it has been detected.

3. If your monitor is not detected automatically, continue with "Selecting your monitor"

1. Click the "Start" button and highlight the "Settings" option.
2. From there, select the "Control Panel" folder.
3. Double click on the "Display" icon in the control Panel.
4. Select the "Settings" tab in the "Display Properties" window.
5. Click on the "Advanced" button.
6. Click on the "Monitor" tab.
7. Click on the "Properties" button.
8. Click on the "Driver" tab.
9. Click on the "Update Driver" button.
10. In the Update Driver Wizard click "Next" .
11. Select "Display a list of known Drivers" . Click "Next" .
12. Select "Show all hardware" .
13. Select "NEC" as the Manufacturer.
14. Select the correct model.
15. Click "Next" .
16. In start device driver installation click "Next " .
17. Click "Finish" .
18. Click "Close".

Note: If a message is displayed informing you that a .ICM file could not be found, you can click on "Skip the file" and finish the installation. The ICM file is a color profile for your monitor and is not required by all users, if you are doing professional graphics design work, then you should download a new inf file that will contain the ICM file from the internet. You can do this by following the instructions in "Windows 95/98/2000/XP monitor "NECMon.zip" file Download Instructions".

1. Download NECMSINF.ZIP, (the Windows 95/98/2000 NEC-Mon.inf file) from NEC's Internet.
2. To complete the download, follow the instructions displayed on your screen.
3. When the download is completed, you need to unzip the file. If you do not have an unzip utility, one can be obtained from http://www.winzip.com/
4. Proceed to Un-zip NECMSINF.ZIP

1. Click the "Start" button and highlight the "Settings" option.
2. From there, select the "Control Panel" folder.
3. Double click on the "Display" icon in the control Panel.
4. Select the "Settings" tab in the "Display Properties" window.
5. Click on the "Advanced" button.
6. Click on the "Monitor" tab.
7. Click on the "Properties" button.
8. Click on the "Driver" tab.
9. Click on the "Update Driver" button.
10. In the Update Driver Wizard click "Next" .
11. Select "Display a list of known Drivers" . Click "Next" .
12. Select "Show all hardware" .
13. Click the "Have Disk" button.
14. In the INSTALL FROM DISK screen click the "Browse" button.
15. Browse to the folder you created for the zip file.
16. Select the correct monitor type. Click "Next" .
17. In "DIGITAL SIGNATURE NOT FOUND" Click the "Yes" button.
18. Click "Finish"
19. Click "Close"

9. If your monitor is not listed, close all dialog boxes and proceed to "NECMSINF.ZIP" file Download Instructions.

12. Copying Files.
13. Windows has finished installing the driver you selected for your hardware device Click "Finish".

6. If your monitor is not detected automatically continue with "Selecting your monitor in the Display Properties box"

1. If you have the "Advanced Properties" version click on the Monitor tab, then Change button. If you have the "Change Display Type" version, click Monitor Type "Change" button.
2. Select the "Show all devices" radio icon in the Select device dialog box. Under Manufacturers: scroll down and select NEC Technologies. In the Models section scroll through the list of NEC monitors and select your MultiSync monitor.
3. Click OK.
4. If your monitor is not listed, close all dialog boxes and proceed to "NECMSINF.ZIP" file Download Instructions.

5. Select the "Show all devices" radio icon in the Select device dialog box. Under Manufacturers: scroll down and select NEC Technologies.
6. Select NEC Technologies Inc.; from the manufactures list , then click the "Have Disk" Button
7. In the command line , identify where the NECMon.inf file is located and click the "OK" Button.
8. This will now update the NEC MultiSync/AccuSync list which includes your new monitor type.
9. Under Manufacturers: scroll down and select NEC Technologies. In the Models section scroll through the list of NEC monitors and select your MultiSync/AccuSync monitor.
10. Click OK.
